If you want the latest Laurie Linden news/itinerary, Jodi has provided a website link (on your right) that should take care of all your needs.

Back to the Blogs & AOBTS: I agree with Erlewine's (All Music) assessment that Jim Walsh's chumminess with The Replacements "can come across like a self-congratulatory club in print." Walsh is no doubt a skilled writer & his love for this band undeniable, but I tend to agree with a musician buddy who thought parts of AOBTS (citing the first 40 pages)"read like an online messageboard." However, I still recommend the book since it's the first devoted to - in the words of NY Times David Carr - "a band that could, but didn't."

Didn't know where else to post this, so this seems like as good a place as any:

Friday, December 14 • Doors 8PM
9PM - 12AM

7th Street Entry
Minneapolis, MN 55455

"Laurie reads from PETAL PUSHER while Retrofit, the world's most dangerous cover band, featuring the incomparable talents of John Eller and Randy Casey, will attempt to nail the soundtrack to the book... so bring your '70's crocheted beer can hat, your new wave elf boots, your a.m. radio heart, and your too cool for words indie rock soul and join the fun"!

If I'm not mistaken, this is the band that played Laurie's graduation party, and PW joined them on stage.
