Autographs are so fucking weird to me. It’s weird. And Im guilty of having several Mats things. Im not sure what they mean to people. Does a signature validate stuff or make it more special. I guess it used to when I was younger. Then I started thinking about it and it just seems like a creepy weird shallow thing.
That said, I’ll still be buried with my Paul SG guitar. In a shallow, shallow grave.

Thank you Karen. I am sure sitting at a table and signing stuff, making small talk is the most awkward thing on Earth. I understand being all “meet the fans” and stuff, but it’s still gotta be kind of nerve-wracking.

Please just bring the book to be signed. I worked in a record store when Let It Be first came out and the band stopped by for an in-store before a show. Chris couldn’t/didn’t/wouldn’t stay to sign stuff with the rest of the band. I’m guessing if he couldn’t bring himself to do it at that time in his life he REALLY REALLY REALLY doesn’t want to have to autograph music stuff tonight.

Ok, how about bringing an album sleeve that Chris illustrated? Didn’t he do some of the art work for DTAS or Tim.

I agree but a lot of people want to meet him because of the mats. It just seems stupid to turn your fans away….whether or not it’s for art or music. People might show up just to say thanks for making this music it really got me though a hard time and he would say I’m not signing your mats album and buy my book or leave? I guess it just seems stupid to ignore a part of your life that touched people.

Seriously … I think a lotta people got turned onto his art by being Mats fans first. If people bring their copy of Pleased to Meet Me AND the book, he’d be a dick to not sign the album … but just bringing Mats stuff and not the book for him to sign would be poor form.

I don’t have his book so no point….I would feel a bit awkward just going to meet him. It’s stupid he won’t sign mats stuff. Don’t get me wrong he is a great artist but why be an ass and say no mats stuff….why would one want to forget being in the replacements. I can only see doing that to bring the wait down…
