I’ve often thought about Glen ( My life long hero ) joining up with songwriting master Paul Westerburg and that last Glen Cd showed me I was right .. Glen sang Paul’s song just as I thought it might sound and Not since Jimmy Webb has Glen found that perfect fit .. I think a lot of people think the same thing I do. This new project is going to be good , but I think Glen should do another record with ten of Paul’s songs and show the world how good it can be when you match the perfect songwriter with the perfect voice ..It is a match made in heaven.. I say that as being a pro songwriter for 35 years .. If you build it .. they will come.
Pauly boy .. sometime’s your fans know what they are talkin about …

Well it doesn’t really sound like it’s much of a collaboration though, does it? Sounds like Campbell is just covering “Ghost on the Canvas.” At least Paul will make some money, which is good for him but bad for us since it means he probably won’t feel the need (at least financially) to tour or release anything for a while.

I’m kinda more curious to hear what the Campbell/Robert Pollard collaboration will be like.

I totally agree…This has the making of possibly something very good and interesting, it would be very cool to have a collaboration with these artists and have it match or equal the Cash and Rubin music…I love the Jimmy Webb stuff as well, one correction though “Gentle On my Mind” was written by John Hartford who is another song writer I have a lot of respect for.

Let me say unadbashadely I fucking love those great Jimmy Webb songs “Gentle On My Mind ” and “Wichita Lineman” that Glen Campbell made famous. I’m all for this cross generational, punk meets country, old meets less old, rhinestine cowboy meets bastard of the young type of stuff. Like Cash & Rubin something really cool might happen.
