Well, I’ll be! Look what I stumbled on- a new-to-me Westerberg fan site. Another PW site? Cool with me! And Jodi, Queen of the Underground. A blast from the not too distant past.

Was just listening to The Ghost Gloves Cat Wing Joy Boys CD and later on, The I Don’t Cares CD and wondering if Paul and Juliana will ever do another album. One can hope!

I saw the Replacements just prior to the release of All Shook Dow, a classic album that showcases primarily Paul Westerberg. It is a tremendous album and is my top ten of all-time rock and roll albums.

I would love to see Paul Westerberg play again…I admire both his Replacement work and hi solo albums. He is a hero of mine musically.

I saw them in Boston at the Orpheum. After a guitar solo no one applauded. Paul said “let’s hear it you lame ass MF’s”. He was right. Boston crowds are not all there.

A friend burned a disc for me with other music, and the only Westerberg tune was “Attitude.” His player was messed up so the recording of that one song was bad-it had a rhythmic skipping to it.
On the basis of that one badly recorded song, I drove 100 miles to see him perform. That was 2006. I didna recognize hardly a song, and it was the best show I had been to in a long time. Color me impressed–I have been a fan ever since. I never thought I was going to hear something new (or old but new too me) that I would love that much.
